ATLANTA September 20, 2023  – Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc., Peach Bowl, Inc. and Kia have teamed up for the 6th annual Evening in the End Zone, “A Night of Spectacles,” fundraising event. The 2023 event will be held on Thursday, October 12 at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame. (, WSB Cox) “We are seeing a huge uptick in the number of children who need to have those glasses,” Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Beth Ehrhardt said. The nonprofit organization is working with Atlanta Public Schools to screen as many students as possible. Administrators say because of the pandemic, too many children missed eye exams. Many have never had one. So the Lions are providing them free of charge. At their facility in Chamblee, they fabricate prescription eyeglasses, also free of charge for patients. Atlanta, GA (March 13, 2023) Georgia Baptist Healthcare Ministry Foundation donates $75,000 to Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc.s’ statewide Tele-Optometry vision program to serve uninsured and underinsured Georgians. Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. launched the first-ever, nonprofit, statewide tele-optometry vision exam pilot in April 2022. (H. M. Cauley, AJC) Each year, about 7,000 Georgians of all ages find they can see more clearly with the help of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse  Foundation. For 75 years, the Chamblee-based nonprofit has provided vision services such as screenings, exams, glasses and surgery to those who cannot otherwise afford eye care. Along with marking a major anniversary, the organization this year welcomed a new executive director, Beth Ehrhardt, who has a personal connection to the foundation’s work.
