Transforming Vision Care in Georgia

The Annual Evening in the End Zone | “A Night of Spectacles” for Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. Fundraising Event is Set to Kick Off October 12, 2023

ATLANTA September 20, 2023  – Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc., Peach Bowl, Inc. and Kia have teamed up for the 6th annual Evening in the End Zone, “A Night of Spectacles,” fundraising event. The 2023 event will be held on Thursday, October 12 at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame. The evening will include a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, seated dinner, and Awards.

“Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. is driven by the pursuit of vision care for all children, youth, adults, and seniors who do not have access to vision services in Georgia,” said Gary Stokan, co-chair. “They are on the front line of the next great transformation in vision care in Georgia, but we need to help to make it possible.” Heading into its sixth year, Evening in the End Zone, “A Night of Spectacles,” raises money, to provide vision services for Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. patients. This year, the goal is to raise $400,000.

Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. provides a full continuum of vision care from vision screenings, complete eye examinations and prescription eyeglasses to coordinating sight-saving surgery. Vision services are provided at the metro Atlanta Clinic, traveling mobile clinics and virtually throughout Georgia via their advanced technology tele-optometry program. Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. works with a network of ophthalmologists to provide patients with optical surgery including treatment for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetes-related vision impairment.

Co-chaired by Gary P. Stokan, President and CEO Peach Bowl Inc. and Kevin Butler, University of Georgia Football Legend and NFL Super Bowl Champion, Evening in the End, “A Night of Spectacles,” will honor the legacy of great athletes, coaches, vision professionals, organizations and community leaders who have made a difference with their generosity and spirit of giving back to those less fortunate in our community. This year we are presenting the following awards:

• Vince Dooley Visionary Leadership Award – Governor Brian Kemp
• Gary Stokan Hero of the Gridiron Award – Mark Richt
• Lighthouse Beacon of Hope Award – Dr. Michael Jacobs
• George Crumbley Vision for the Future Award – Bob Hope
• Luminary Corporate Award – Kia
• The Grace Clower Community Partnership Award – Ben Massell Dental Clinic
