Up to 80% of what a child learns is visual, so identifying vision problems early is a key to their success. Utilizing advanced digital screeners, Lighthouse staff and volunteers conduct community based vision screenings throughout the state. Children identified through these screenings are then scheduled for a comprehensive eye exam and receive eyeglasses if necessary.
To qualify for vision services from the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level
- Be a Georgia resident
- Meet the Lighthouse’s income requirements
- Submit copies of ALL required documents (including, but not limited to, pay stubs, identification cards, and parent or guardian tax returns)
