Mirate Eye Center Partners with Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation
VALDOSTA – The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation and Mirate Eye Center have partnered to provide eye exams and eyeglasses to under-insured Georgians in the Valdosta community. Joining the list of 33 Lighthouse clinic locations throughout the state, Dr. Mirate, M.D. will perform eye exams at his practice monthly. Lighthouse Clinic Managers will work with Mirate Eye Center staff to assist patients with selecting eyeglasses. Eyeglass prescriptions will be produced at the Lighthouse’s Optical Center at their Chamblee headquarters.
Since the first clinic in April, the Lighthouse and Mirate Eye Center have provided 43 people with vision services. Lighthouse program director Morgan Alexander says about the partnership, “Dedicated volunteer healthcare providers like Dr. Mirate are what make our programs possible. We couldn’t be more excited to work with him and his staff to provide these essential vision services to Georgians in need.”
Eye exams and eyeglasses are available to qualifying Georgia residents by appointment only.
