Welcome, Dekalb Parents!

Thanks for your interest in The Lighthouse’s vision services for Dekalb County kids. We look forward to serving your family.

Program Overview

The Museum School of Avondale Estates

If your child currently attends one of the schools listed above, he or she is eligible to receive an eye exam and, if necessary, a pair of eyeglasses – at no charge to you. (Please note that you will be required to provide evidence of your child’s enrollment at a qualifying school.)

Program Details

The Lighthouse has allotted four days in April to provide this free service to Dekalb County children. Available dates are Wednesday, April 3; Saturday, April 6; Saturday, April 13; and Saturday, April 20. To reserve a space for your child, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Call (404) 325-3630 ext. 309. This is a dedicated voicemail box checked several times a day. You will receive a call back.
  2. Speaking slowly and clearly, leave a message with all of the following information: 1) your name; 2) your child’s name; 3) your child’s school; and 4) a call-back number.
  3. Watch for a call back from Lighthouse staff, who will provide you with your child’s appointment date and time. (Please note that we are unable to accommodate scheduling preferences. Children are assigned a slot automatically.)
